BlueCard portal accounts are created for all new students. The username, how to log in, and how to create a password are emailed to both the student and the student’s parents. Parents and student shared the username and password. We do this because students need access to the BlueCard Portal to upload their photo for their ID but parents typically manage the account. The username and password issued are active for the entire time the student attends Phillips Academy.

Funds can be added to the card by students and parents—in person at the BlueCard Office with cash or check or online with a credit card. Both parents and students are provided with account access to the BlueCard Portal website (see question regarding BlueCard Portal account). To add funds, either:

  • Log into your BlueCard portal account using your assigned username and password. These were assigned when the student started at Phillips Academy. If you do not remember your account credentials, call the BlueCard Office at 978-749-4124 or email bluecard@andover.edu.
  • Choose “Make a guest deposit”. For a guest deposit all you will need is the student’s last name and the 7 digit customer number (also referred to as the student ID or student number which can be found on the HIVE).
  • Once you are connected either by logging on or choosing Guest Deposit, choose the amount you wish to deposit and the fund (Blue Bucks can be used both on and off campus, so most parents choose that account). On the next screen enter your credit card information and billing information and hit “Submit”. BE SURE to choose “Make Deposit” on the last screen otherwise the deposit will not go through.
  • The BlueCard has two stored value accounts:

  • Blue Bucks Funds can be used both on and off campus. Usual choice.
  • PA Campus Funds are good at any location on campus.
When loading funds onto the BlueCard, you can choose to manage spending by placing money in the two accounts or all funds in the Blue Bucks account. CVS is currently the only off-campus merchant to accept the BlueCard so there may not be a need to place funds in the PA Campus account. Blue Bucks is are accepted at all on-campus locations and at CVS (or any future downtown merchants that may accept the BlueCard).

  • The username is based on the students username. Example: cscofield25. If you forget your username, contact the BlueCard Office at 978-749-4124 or bluecard@andover.edu.

If you forget your password, choose "Recover Your Password" from the BlueCard Portal Login screen. Enter your username and the email on your BlueCard Portal Profile. This email is the student's Andover email account. Example: cscofield25@andover.edu. A temporary password will be emailed to the student's email. Go to the login screen and enter this temporary password. NOTE: The password is very long and complex so it is best to copy and paste it. Once connected, you will need to change your password. The new password must be a minimum of 7 characters and contain 1 number. If the parent is making this request, please ask your student to forward the password reset email to you. Students, if you change the password, please share it with your parents.

If you lose or misplace your ID or believe it was stolen, you should report it immediately to Campus Safety by calling 4444. They will deactivate your card’s ability to access campus buildings and give you a temporary card, if needed. If you know you left your BlueCard in a building, you can ask Campus Safety to allow you access in order to retrieve it. If the card was lost off-campus and cannot be easily retrieved or you do not know where the card is, you will need to get a new BlueCard. Come to the BlueCard Office, located in the Dean of Students Office in the basement of George Washington Hall, Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 4:30 to get a replacement.

Since your card is also used as a stored value card, you will want to DEACTIVATE the account so transactions cannot be charged to the card. You can do this by logging into your BlueCard account and choosing “Card Services” and “Deactivate Card”. If you have trouble accessing your account, you can also contact the BlueCard Office at 978-749-4124 or bluecard@andover.edu and request your card be deactivated.

If you do not deactivate your card and it is used by someone else to make purchases, you are responsible for those charges. Fortunately, this is has only happened once.

There is a $10 fee for a replacement card.

Log into the BlueCard portal and make a deposit to the student's account. On the final screen, choose, the option "Save for Future Deposits". If you wish to delete a Save Payment Method, log into the BlueCard Portal, choose "Profile" from the top menu (Accounts, Card Services, Profile). Under Profile, choose "Saved Payment Methods" and choose "DELETE" .

This happens because the last step was missed. After entering the credit card and billing information and hitting "Submit", you're presented with a screen asking you to confirm the deposit. It is often interpreted as a confirmation screen. Hit "Make Deposit" on this screen and you will receive a confirmation message. You may notice that the funds are being held by your bank/credit card. Because the transaction did not go through, the funds are typically release back to your account within 48 hours. If the funds are returned after this time, contact the BlueCard office (978-749-4124 or bluecard@andover.edu.
